ABOUT
Since the first show of his paintings in Berkeley in 1985, Matthew
Owens has gained a reputation in the U.S. and abroad for his original
use of the pastel medium, and his powerful and subtle use of color
to express the drama of light and the forces of nature.
Owens now works in watercolor, as well as oil and soft pastel,
and as he travels, his work increasingly reflects the power of
place.
